to be declared for each device model, so that different models can be specified for different parameter ranges. For example, this will simplify the definition of the high-sheet-rho poly resistors and the bipolar transistors in sky130 by removing the need for ID marker layers; it also allows the correct device model to be extracted when reading data from GDS that does not contain the extra (and not foundry-approved) ID markers.
